Live Oaks Marketing Management and Operations Program, 1990Īs a student in the Live Oaks Marketing Management program, Chad Eastham was very active in DECA activities. He is a member of the Greenfield Rotary, Family Recovery Services Board and Highland County Cattlemen’s Association.įor his efforts, Dave has received the Watchdog of the Treasury Award and the Public Servant of the Year Award from the Ohio Association of Career and Technical Education. He serves on several House Committees and holds leadership roles as Vice Chair of the Insurance Committee and a member of the House Republican Caucus Policy Committee.ĭave has always remained close to the citizens in his community. As State Representative of the 86th Ohio House District, Dave has served his constituents well. In 2003, the citizens with whom Dave had lived and worked elected him to the Ohio House of Representatives. He held this position for six years – three of these as President. Voters then elected him to the position of Highland County Commissioner. In 1984, Dave began his public service on the Greenfield, Ohio City Council, where he served eight years as Mayor. Laurel Oaks Farm Management Program, 1975ĭavid Daniels leveraged the lessons he learned in the Farm Management program at Laurel Oaks into a successful career as a farm owner and a public servant. She is also planning to open a new pet salon and retail store in the future.

In addition to speaking, writing and judging competitions, Karla operates an e-commerce site, and Stray Dog Sales Wholesale Company. She has also served on the Board of Curriculum Development for the Ohio Department of Education. Karla has continued to give back to the Animal Science and Management program and the Live Oaks Campus as a coach, guest speaker, a member of the Advisory Committee for the program and a member of the campus Business Partnership Council. She has received other awards as well, including the 1988 Outstanding Young Entrepreneur in America Award from the US Association of Small Business and Entrepreneurship. She has competed in and judged grooming competitions at the national and international levels and has won many prestigious awards. She has shared her expertise in the Maintenance Grooming Workbook, which was published by the Ohio Agricultural Education Curriculum Materials Service. Karla continued to expand her knowledge of grooming various breeds. Karla hired her first Live Oaks student just three years after she graduated from high school.

She opened the first Bow Wow Boutique – a grooming shop that also offered upscale accessories – in 1978. Karla started a dog grooming business in her mother’s basement right after high school graduation. When she placed third in the Ohio FFA Dog Grooming competition, she was hooked. She enjoyed the hands-on time with the dogs and the work appealed to her artistic side. As a student in the Live Oaks Animal Science and Management program, she developed a passion for grooming.
